worship on wednesday! (and other holy week happenings)

This is Holy Week, a week of tragic and magical beauty and depth, a week to journey so close to Jesus that his life, death and resurrection actually touch, move, raise up something in us. I hope to see you this week, maybe even more than once. And I hope you get to see the very face of Jesus this week, definitely more than once. Here are some of the places where we'll be meeting Jesus this week ...

What's going on @ The Crossing:
** Wednesday, 3/19 @ 6pm: The Crossing will host Tenebrae ~ a solemn, candlelit service of reflection on Christ's suffering and the suffering of the world ... and our hope for resurrection. Filled with soul grooves, ancient chants, stirring images and the movement of the Holy Spirit.

** Maundy Thursday, 3/20 @ 6pm: During our usual worship time, the whole Cathedral community will gather for an Agape Meal and ritual footwashing, followed by the stripping of the altars in advance of the Good Friday observance @ noon-2pm the next day.

** Holy Saturday, 3/22 @ 7-9pm: Celebrate resurrection at Rise Up! A Soulful Easter Vigil. Experience the most ancient ritual in Christian tradition, infused with poetry, spirituals, the blues, gospel, hip hop and reggae -- a true Crossing original! Bonus: Free validated parking @ Boston Common Garage on Charles Street.

** Easter Sunday, 3/23 @ 10am: Join us for a festive eucharist for the whole family. Why not get up on a Sunday morning for church?

There's lots more going on in our community in the Easter season, but for now, let's focus on this holiest of weeks, and all that God is breaking open in and through us. Along the way, I pray that you will have some moments of silence and peace. I also hope you will get stirred up with real hunger for a taste of the living God. Let's walk together and share it all.
