Taizé this Sunday

This Sunday begins our monthly Taizé program. The second Sunday of each month, New Wine will host a Taizé style program. These programs will be built upon a foundation of silence and meditative song. In the simple and repetitive songs we can find solace and relief from the chaos and stresses of our everyday lives. So please, come and join us for this unique form of prayer and worship. See you Sunday!

Coming features for the website

I'm doing a lot of back-end work on the website, so I just wanted to let you know of some features to expect in a few days or weeks (a little early hype never hurt anyone).

  • New Wine Open Forums: A place to post and share ideas about anything

  • Detailed Program Descriptions: What is Taizé? And what's a Labyrinth

  • Photo Albums: Pictures of New Wine events, past and present

Also, keep your eye out for New Wine to start showing up where you least expect it. We'll be doing some advertising in the next couple of months!

Eucharist Ideas

One of the recurring programs that New Wine tries to offer is what we affectionately call a funky eucharist. Instead of the traditional offerings, we'll brings songs we love, share poems that matter to us, or even perform ourselves. These programs have names like Open-Mic Eucharist, Bring a Song Eucharist, we even had a Kung-Fu-Charist.

So at our planning meeting on Sunday we were trying to come up with ideas for funky eucharists. We got November and December's eucharists planned, but we still need ideas. What sounds like a fun way to come together for eucharist?
